Prelim task

Evaluation:

Our prelim task matched the original video very well. We timed the shots so that they fitted into the video exactly as the other video does. Some difficulties we had with the video were the fake blood and the layout of the house. The consistency of the blood was extremely difficult to replicate as the blood we used was much thicker and did not splatter in the same way that the blood did in the original video. The layout of the house was also an issue as the original video was filmed in an American-style cabin, and we filmed in an English townhouse. To get over this problem, we flipped the shot that was on the stairs to change the scene we filmed.

Performance, Concept and Narrative videos

This is an example of a concept music video. The genre of music (rap) is not conventionally portrayed by a concept music video, and so to have this whole video be animated is very unusual.

This is an example of a performance music video. The bright colours and upbeat dancing is a staple to performance videos, and also the main guy does objectify women in it which is also an unfortunate part of a lot of performance videos.

This is an example of a narrative music video. You can tell this because the main person in the video is not lip syncing and a story is told of this guy walking home whilst intoxicated and we can see his hallucinations.
